The arm-shaped vessels in Anatolia and the Eastern Mediterranean during the Late Bronze Age: a morphological and contextual analysis

The so-called libation arms found in Anatolia and the Eastern Mediterranean during Late Bronze Age, belong to ceramic class Red Lustrous Wheel-made Ware, characterized by a very fine fabric, careful cooking red slipped polished surface. Even if they were thoroughly analyzed, it was generally assumed that these objects linked religious or cultic activities destined libatory action. However, no systematic investigation carried out relation their finding contexts. This paper presents results of morphological contextual analysis this specific artifact. It offers suggestions for production areas, function distribution on base catalog collects all pieces so far each context. data seem indicate an Anatolian type unrelated which is solely activity.
